Kyrsten Lofts is a Canadian interdisciplinary artist who’s recent work encompasses surreal paintings of imagined sculptures. Through her interest in sculpture, painting and drawing, Lofts explores medical and historical contexts that have informed a subjective understanding of the body in Western mainstream culture. Within her work she uses duality to question predetermined knowledge of this body. Lofts’ work is highly self reflexive of personal experience and material research. She has recently exhibited work in IKG Live 2, and at The Wall Gallery.

Lofts has completed her final year of her Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in painting at the Alberta College of Art + Design in Calgary, AB.
